They think it's about looking pretty, and "getting the guy"
Beautiful eyes, beautiful minds
But if you'll give me just a few minutes of your time
I'll show you a real, no joke, day in the life
They don't think it makes sense
Why I work overtime- do I do it for the rent?
Now, let me layout this series of events
While I work for my 81 cents
Less than 100 years ago, women couldn't vote
We devoted our time to learning the word "no"
To tell all the guys who asked us to show
And to think, you call me a.. some names
They wonder why we fantasize our wedding dreams
All over the world, we are forced to marry, at age fifteen
But go ahead, let freedom ring
Just so you know, I don't agree
They treat us like subjects, they use us like objects
Yet they object when we say we're experiencing neglect
By all the men who cash us in
and then we're left to pay off the debt.
I don't understand why they can't see
You know, to some degree
That I don't need perfect hair, or perfect teeth
But don't call me hot, call me beautiful, cuz I'm not a cup of tea
