Like a storm brews,
So does my rage.
“Be kind” they say
Never knowing the weight of the command.
“Be silent” they say
The silence is eating away at my soul, but I no longer know how to speak.
“Be compassionate” they say
Never asking if they deserve it.
My innocence is long gone and so is my will to follow flimsy rules by others.
Like a caged bird,
I am fighting for freedom.
