I really need to stop with the sad poems.

The love of war

I opened my eyes to a battlefield of death and blood.

And holding me, close to his chest was him.

"Please, stay with me" he said as his voice cracked and weeped like a babe.

I reached for his hand, to find it drenched it blood.

Blood that was not his own, nor the blood of the soldiers dying around us.

Oh. It was my blood. I was dying.
