Who is the one that stands before me?

The Mirror| Poem

nocturnalprism

Mirror, mirror, on the wall Show me the person behind the shawl

The one who always stood so tall The one who smiled, before her fall.

Mirror, mirror, on the floor Show me what lies beyond her door

Show me the glory of her day Show me the path that led her astray.

Mirror, mirror, why can't you tell What happened to the girl I knew so well?

Mirror, mirror, who do I see? Who is the one that stands before me?

Mirror, mirror, now in shards Scattered like haphazard cards

Has she fled? Has she withdrawn? Is all that's left of her foregone?
