When we stop to think about our world today,
the main word that jumps out at us is 'hate.'
Hate seems to be lurking around every busy street corner,
in every shadow,
in every darkened room.
It lurks freely, quietly,
and hits us at all the wrong moments.
Whether we are the ones emitting the hate or recieving it,
hate is everywhere.
With every shooting,
with every bombing,
and with every rude remark;
Hate grows with us.
Hate soon becomes a part of us.
Only due to us only unknowingly feeding our hate more and more.
With the slightest rude gesture,
such as not nodding a hello to a stranger,
we feed our inner hate a little snack.
Our inner evil,
our inner darkness,
grows. As if it were a child.
And it blossoms into a bewildering, blindly beautiful, black rose.
Soon, our joy is consumed.
Light turns to dark.
Hate is only a blackened rose.
So, please, remember to be kind.
Give a helping hand or just simply hold the door open for someone.
Starve your hate; don't feed it.
Make our black roses back into colorful roses.
We have the power to change our hateful world.
We have the power to surpass any obstacles headed our way.
We have the power to make the world colorful once more.
Help the world grow into a better place.
