I'm sorry if you know this feeling. The one that curls your insides -

It's Not Your Fault

I'm sorry if you know this feeling.

The one that curls your insides -

Like paper in the fire.

Sometimes I think I must strike the match.

Light the edges and see how much of this I can take.

The whole hydrosphere can't wash us clean,

But I will try to find peace in any body of water,

I don't try to drown in.

Any rooftop that I don't fall from.

If this feeling is new to you -

I'm afraid it's here to stay.

But you are not alone.

Memory is fickle and one day it's all you'll have left.

The taste of blood in your mouth will dissipate.

Your skin will stop trying to evacuate your body.

The car alarm inside you will only scream one thing:

It was not your fault.

It was not your fault.

It was not your fault.

It was not your fault.
