Nostalgia

by nerdletech

If you touch me there is no going back

I am a stain that you cannot wash away

A whisper in the back of your mind

The word on the tip of your tongue

You will not remember my laugh

My eyes

My subconcious habits

Nor will you remember my name

But you will remember the way it tasted

And how it settled in your stomach

Like the nostalgia of an alcoholic's first drink

If you touch me there is no going back

I am as sure as the blood in your veins

And as dismissable as knowing how to breathe

It is impossible to forget me

Because you will remember me as a feeling

You had metered delivery of your words that was about as good as it gets. The words you chose evoke great empathy for you message. The message was delicious, it was enlightened and it was clever. I loved it. Great poem!!!
