You don't have to make the screen grey, we still see colors their just not as bright. We don't all cut, the pain is enough to cover our whole body in scars.
Most of us don't care what others think about us, somewhere down the road we decided we were too messed to try anymore.
You don't need to make it any more clear to us that we have chains and you have wings, we know that more than you do. We live with it every day. Depression isn't sadness, so think again.
You don't get to tell us we're alright, you don't get to tell us that we need to talk to someone about it, don't you think we've done that already?? It doesn't work.
We've tried that before, the pain was too much to handle all alone so we attempted to have someone help us but they didn't, they ran away. They ran away and left us even more broken than before.
They just don't understand, they just don't see it, they don't feel what we feel deep in our heart.
They don't feel pain unlike anything that's ever been imagined, this one can't be if you haven't been through it. Your version is wrong. We aren't happy like you see us.
We aren't smiling for real as you see. We aren't fine like we said we were and you so arrogantly believed.
YOUR VERSION OF US IS BEYOND WRONG AND YOU'LL NEVER KNOW WHAT'S RIGHT!! Think again when you see us staring at the floor. Think again when you so blindly missed the tear that treaded down our face. Think again when you tell people to get help if they feel pain but you don't understand it.
It's all too much to tell someone the truth, it's all too hard to let all your secrets spill out.
It's all too much, we can't handle it ourselves so what makes you think you could help us when you just don't understand OUR VERSION. YOU WON'T LOOK AT US THE SAME IF WE TELL YOU.
WE DON'T SEE A STRONG INDEPENDENT PERSON WHEN WE LOOK IN THE MIRROR, WE'RE NOT BLIND TO BEAUTY IT'S BLIND TO US.
DON'T THINK WE DON'T WISH IT WAS DIFFERENT, DON'T THINK WE DON'T CARE WHEN WE SEE SOMEONE PRETTY WALK THROUGH THE HALLS, WE NOTICE THEM THE MOST BECAUSE THEY HAVE SOMETHING WE WANT.
We want to be happy, we want to be pretty, we want to be something we're not and we want something impossible. So next time you look at us, realize your version is wrong because...
you can't understand OUR version.
