This is my first real try with poetry and I’m super nervous to post this, but I’m hoping you like it!

(I’m sincerely sorry if you don’t lolol)

Still here.

We found ourselves upside down and full of hate

Heavy blood dragging itself through our veins as we screamed

They'll hear us

They always have

But their backs stay turned towards a life

We'll never again face

Leaving us lightheaded

And uncomfortable to a degree that brings us to our knees

In shame

Every time we cry

They step further away

Until they can no longer hear

The pain that seeps within the tears

And sadly

We find ourselves wishing

We weren't still here.
