The sun dips beneath the horizon, and the air begins to cool.

Night Fall

The sun dips beneath the horizon,

and the air begins to cool.

Crickets start to chirp and sing.

A gentle breeze blows by.

The sky is deep blue.

A full moon lights the clouds.

It is late, on a late summers eve.

The children are in bed.

The world has gone to sleep.

There is the smell of rain,

from earlier in the day.

While shadows flicker,

in rhythm with a campfire.

I should go to sleep,

but I love the world like this.

Quiet and peaceful.

This is my favorite time.

The time when night falls.
