I walk along a paved trail. It’s lined with many trees,

Autumn Afternoon

I walk along a paved trail.

It’s lined with many trees,

Leaves on branches, others,

littering the ground, colors,

gold and yellow and red,

crunching under my feet.

The wind stirs them up.

A few birds are singing.

Sweet smells to the air.

The benches sit empty.

Briskness with the breeze,

but the sunlight warms me.

A quiet autumn afternoon.

I walk a little further on,

and pass a bubbling brook.

Other people pass me by.

They are enjoying the leaves.

Winter will be here too soon.

So for now, I enjoy them also.
