Thoughts about Father’s Day when ur father left

Dad

You taught me to wear shoes when I went outside

To be tough and not to cry

You said money was a working game

And that perfection was unattained

You said boys were perverted and girls were queens

And people that were different weren’t really mean

And when u changed, and left, and made me cry

I learned that I can’t control others even if I try

I learned that trust is only founded in yourself

But that love is worth it anyhow

I saw that no ones story is only skin deep

And that there’s a higher power helping me

So if someone asked if you were a good dad

I think I’d say yes even though you left
