This is my favorite poem. I thought I'd share its beauty with everyone.

"I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud" by William Wordsworth

I wandered lonely as a cloud

That floats on high o'er vales and hills

When all at once I saw a crowd,

A host, of golden daffodils;

Beside the lake, beneath the trees,

Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine

And twinkle on the milky way,

They stretched in never-ending line

Along the margin of a bay:

Ten thousand saw I at a glance,

Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they

Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:

A poet could not but be gay,

In such a jocund company:

I gazed - and gazed - but little thought

What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie

In vacant or in pensive mood,

They flash upon that inward eye

Which is the bliss of solitude;

And then my heart with pleasure fills,

And dances with the daffodils.

@marino @sydney I studied Romanticism in my English class in high school, and Wordsworth was one of the key poets of Romanticism. Wordsworth defined poetry as the "spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings", recollected in tranquility. Wordsworth grew up in the Lake District of London, leading to his poetry concerning nature and being one with nature. This poem to me, contains very strong imagery and creates a peaceful feeling in me. This poem is my happy place. I just imagine meditating on the shore of a lake where the waters are bluer than I've ever seen, and a calm breeze moves along, pushing white, wispy clouds and sailboats over the waters. Flowers and trees are around me, mountains are cradling the lake, and I simply sit there, breathing in the cleanest air in the world. This poem inspires in me to enjoy the simple things in life.

@pluto Aw, thanks. I really wanted people to grasp the connection with nature that romanticism and Wordsworth stressed.
