The night before it all, The day of it all,

Clamming

The night before it all,

The day of it all,

The stage that holds in all,

In clamming hands

And sweaty palms.

The day that steals every word

The night before recited,

The stage takes

And takes

And takes

And takes

But gives only two things.

The terror,

The horror of before and now

The fear at night that stretches past the day,

That is it's gift,

Known to all except the lucky few spared.

Except those spared,

Those who know nothing of clammed hands and tongues,

Those who speak freely,

Will never know the freedom bestowed.

Yes,

The spared will never know the gift of peace.

That single moment after,

Where a single breath is sent away,

With every ounce of fear,

Leaving behind,

Relief.
