I'm closing the fort that I built for you....

Closing The Fort

Closing The Fort By: Mike Mezz

I've been waiting for you To join my quest I know you feel blue And you cannot rest

You stay within arms length But not close enough to touch I'm trying to believe It's in you I can trust

I'm closing the fort I believed in you once It's closed forevermore It will never be opened up

I seem to be standing still In an ocean without you Waiting in a life of will Will you come to the rescue?

I put my life in your hands But you never came through I floated to the sand And I really counted on you

I'm closing the fort The one I built for you It will be closed forevermore I couldn't pull you through

You were stranded on an Island Your barriers came down So I let you in my fort I wouldn't let you drown

You stayed right here Until the storm passed I gave you a life You hoisted the mast

So I'm closing the fort The one built only for you It will be closed forevermore You're now alone on the ocean blue
