I asked myself if I should go to work, but my stubborn eyes were bolted and barred shut.
My teeth began to grind, making a noise in an act of defiance.
Tense legs kicked from inside the bed cover, wildly resisting their submission.
Surely, this was all the answer that I needed.
But oh, the ever-eager sun sneaked a peek into my room and greeted me
like the old, familiar friend that it was.
Its soothing light swept across the room,
searching, until it found its way to me.
It made me blush, as it stayed still enough to make me open my heavy eyes.
How early this dear old pal had gone to work
just to keep me company today.
I shook my head, smiling, for I’ve found the answer.
If the sun could rise today, then so can I.
