chapter two~

Also I know its long, sorry, but I felt the end was the only reasonable place to stop, in order for the next chapter to make sense

Her boomerangs were laying next to her, just in case someone snuck up on her. Moonstone closed her eyes, smiling softly as the flower petals fell from the tree and landed on her.

as Osara entered town, she saw a girl, with long light blue hair and a pretty stellular outfit on, literally and she admired her beauty, before walking past her, and into town, where she admired the scenery and then walked into the grocery store, acquiring a basket, and putting in the basic things her and her dad needed,

milk, flour, sugar, salt, fruits and some veggies, she paid then transferred all the food to the basket the wooden woven basket she had brought with her, and then left the store, sitting on a bench, facing the beach and pulling her journal out and writing and entry in it.

Moonstone took a deep breath before getting up. She started walking towards the beach, as the beach was one thing she liked more than the cherry blossom trees. She waved when she passed Sadie and decided to stop by the temple house. She figured seeing Steven and the others would be more fun than being by herself.

Osara glanced up as the same girl who was sitting under the tree, walked past her "hey! wait up!" she yelled to the girl, she got up jogging to catch up with her, when she did she smiled at the girl "I love your outfit, its absolutely beautiful." She stated, brushing part of her bangs out of her face with her finger tips, smiling softly.

“Oh my stars, thank you,” Moonstone smiled, grabbing onto her skirt. “I love it too,” she giggled, twirling. “I like yours too,” she looked back up at Osara, her light blue eyes shining in the sun light. She was glad she had someone to talk to. Life had been a little lonely lately.

"thank you" Osara said kindly, her eyes twinkling at the compliment, she smiled, tugging on her skirt playfully "my papa made it for me actually" she added, smiling.

“Whoa! He must be pretty talented!” Moonstone smiled in amazement before twirling again. When she stopped, she took a deep breath. “So…what were you doing before you came up to me?”

Osara looked into her basket "I was doing some shopping, grocery shopping as most people say" she said, her bleach blonde hair blowing in the wind behind her "what about you, usually people are out, swimming or hanging out with friends." She said, she paused then added "im not implying you don't have friends, just wondering"

“Um…well…it’s not exactly easy to make human friends when you’ve got a gem,” Moonstone admitted, her gem shining in the sunlight. “I was just going to stop by the Crystal Gems’ place. They’re probably my only friends,” she laughed nervously.

Osara raised an eyebrow in curiosity, she had always admired the Crystal Gems from afar, as her papa never let her to close to anyone in town, in fear for her safety "Oh?" she said "you have a gem? do you…do you live just like a regular person?" she asked curiously, she had always imagined living in town, where she saw people everyday, made friends, lived life.

"but what?" she asked curiously, she had heard talk around town, when she came to get things she needed of Rose Quartz, and how Steven now had her gem, she had always wondered how Steven lived, considering her mother did the exact same for her, her mother had left her a bunch of videotapes, of herself; so Osara would always remember.

She gazed into the skyline, and remembered a line from one of the tapes that her mother had said every time before ending each one "remember Osara, you are a beautiful thing, human yet gem, and that's something extraordinary." She would always say in a dreamy voice.

“But it’s hard,” Moonstone sighed before looking up at Osara. “Are you alright?” she tilted her head. Humans fascinated her…they were amazing. She didn’t understand why exactly Osara was zoning off. Did she remember something?

Osara nodded her head, and smiled at Moonstone "yes, I'm quite alright." She said quickly, "i'm sure you are fitting in just fine" Osara said softly, her eyes traveling along the ocean line. She looked at Moonstone, her emerald green eyes meeting the other pair of bright, crystal blue ones. "Say, I don't get out much, could I-" she paused and hesitated for a few seconds

"could I come with you?" she asked, a group of teens walked past, recording videos on their cellphones, she watched them pass, she had a cell phone, it seemed to weigh a thousand pounds in the pocket on her dress, but she ignored it.

Moonstone went silent before smiling. “Of course!” she grinned. “It’s nice to have someone to hang out with…especially since the others are usually off savin’ the world and all,” she admitted as she started walking again. Her crystal blue eyes were filled with excitement as she wanted to hopefully become friends with this new girl.

Osara stayed by her side, she smiled when Moonstone spoke "say, are you like…a human teenager or?" she asked quietly, her eyes sparkling, she smiled "because im sixteen." She said quickly.

Moonstone laughed. “Oh stars, no. I’m just a gem…about 6,000 years old or so,” she smiled, her eyes glistening as she gestured to her gemstone and her white pupils. “Do these look human to you?” she laughed again.

Osara gave a small laugh "what I meant was, is your age equivalent to human teenagers?" she asked, her head tilted to the side slightly, her faces fingering the bottom skirt part of her dress.

“Nope! Mine’s closer to what you humans call…a young adult,” Moonstone confirmed, fiddling with her hair. “At least…I think. It’s kinda weird,” she laughed before twirling.

Osara nodded "cool, you kinda give me the energy of a human teenager though" she said swiftly, her eyes continuing to sparkle. She followed along quietly "is it rare for there to be half gems half humans? is there a name for those types of people?" she asked quickly.

“Um…as far as I know there’s only three…you, Steven, and the daughter of this other Moonstone I knew…” Moonstone told her. “We usually call them hybrids since that’s technically what they are,” she added, gripping her skirt.

Osara stopped, her eyes widened in confusion "how did you-…" she paused and looked around wildly, stepping closer to Moonstone, and whispering "how did you know i'm a hybrid?" she didnt want the citizens of Beach City knowing she was hybrid, that she had a gem is it really that easy to tell? she thought to herself.

“You gave me similar vibes that the other two gave me,” Moonstone laughed. “Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone…except for the Crystal Gems,” she smiled, ruffling Osara’s hair. “Plus…who knows? They might be able to help you master your abilities.”
