Still Love

by maxiom

Still love is the kind that aches

It sits below, alone it shakes

It doesn't burn and it doesn't sing

It's nothing like a fiery ring

Still love is the flatted three In a somber chord, in a minor key Carried by a cold tempo Over and over’s the way it goes

Out of my mind, trapped underground My body a vessel, unsafe and unsound As I broke and fell apart Still love invaded my heart

Like a soldier who’s forgotten why He scatters bullets through the sky I used to know, but not anymore Why I’m even in this war

Still love is the kind that sits Still love, it never quits After all you put me through Somehow, someway,

I still love you.

This was plaintively written it reflecting torture and it also reflects something somewhat reminiscent of the Stockholm syndrome. Your word choice to describe the pain was excellent. Great job!!!
