will you fall in love with me awash in the sleepy glow of the town’s nightlight?

main street’s midnight

we stand opposite there is a streetlight shining between us

beckoning us closer like a lighthouse to two lost ships

the world is so blue except for our corner it is a warm yellow glow

the world is so blue except for our corner it is a warm yellow glow (the color of a hug).

it’s midnight around us but there’s a constant sunrise under the streetlight’s glow

pull me in, closer. make me feel the warmth of a moth drawn to a flame

that foolish satisfaction of walking the line separating knowledge

and ignorance. i want to know you even if it kills me.
