We have crowned the fool
and named him "god"
The people in the streets called,
"He once was us but now is awed!"
He'd bite off praising fingers
and swallow the toes he stepped on.
He stands resplendent in his robes,
making a mockery of the dawn.
He started as the fool he crowned
but foolery blossomed into madness
And now where we would scorn and giggle,
he paints blood on faces of canvas
