When I entered this world I was a fully charged battery, Not understanding that once drained, Life would become a calamity
As years went on, And more energy was spent, I steadily began to drain Until I was at five percent. As fight or flight kicks in You reserve all you can, And soon getting out of bed Is your only daily plan.
People will offer advice: Such as go to the gym, Telling you it “Helped my endorphins kick in” Others will say go to a doctor, Or up your caffeine; But I chose to energise By becoming a coke fiend
Now simple tasks I used to complete with ease, Will take me hours Due to this disease. Once a battery dies You either charge it or recycle; But they will never be as good as they were Upon their arrival.
