I still go to our tree...

Sympathy

I know how trees feel

To never touch,

Long to grow faster and stretch

Across brown expanses

The grass and soil are grey here now,

In our place,

Setting the scene of a silent movie

Footsteps approach,

Leather shoes,

Deadened crunches on dead leaves

Sinking into soft soil

The ground is dead

And so am I,

Tears muffled by the medium

Of this morning,

And the cold winter wind

I know how you feel

I feel you,

Your shear emptiness

I know how it feels to be uncovered and hollow

At the same time too

Twice the pain

Pain in general is my specialty
