A poem about flowers, requested by a stranger.

The Garden

by LunaGrimm

You took a flower from my garden, and left me with weeds

I opened the gate to let you water my life, and you brought wilted flowers, broken pots, and darkness.

You took a flower and held it close.

And felt your own thorns pierce your skin, and you felt the way I did when I was alive.

So you came back and we rebuilt each other.

I took a flower and so did you.

Mine was red, and yours was blue.

Always care for it for I am with you.

@bernardtwindwil I've only ever heard darker sayings, but I don't plan to let anyone in my garden haha, it's coming along nicely. :) Thank you!

Have you ever heard the saying, "Our love was like a mine. You got the gold and I got the shaft."? I loved the poignancy that your words expressed. But, this is what happens when love goes through your life. It's like eating three raw habanero peppers. It's hot, exciting, and overwhelming when it starts. But it can be a real pain in the quizorninplatz when it leaves. Great poem!!!
