When all eyes and ears are on you
What else can you do but put on a show?
When you’re forced to be a center piece In the puzzle When you know You are the bottom left corner
What else can you do but pretend it fits you well?
You do not want the eyes To see you move in your own way So you move in the ways that they love to see
You do not want the ears To hear you sing in your own way So you sing in the ways that they love to hear.
You also have eyes And from your vantage point You see a lot that you shouldn’t have.
You also have ears And you’ve learned to listen around corners So you hear a lot that you shouldn’t have.
But you can’t share any of that. No you can’t share anything.
Because you have to say what they want to hear And they don’t want to hear anything bad about themselves.
if they hear something bad about you? The mouths devour it all up and spit it up right back onto you.
The mouths Like to discuss in hush tones About things they consider Taboo
And you start to realize That all of those taboos Are inside of you.
Even more reason to Let them see hear and eat what they want to.
