A sleepy afternoon on the banks of the Orinoco River ...

SONATA FOR A LATE AFTERNOON

21 July 1903, in Ciudad Bolivar (a.k.a. Santo Tomas Bolivar de la Nueva Guayana en la Angostura del Orinoco, a.k.a. Angostura), the last battle of the Liberation Revolution was fought, where the government army under the command of Juan Vicente Gomez defeats the opposition forces of General Nicolas Rolando.

Let us head to that Venezuelan town on the banks of the Orinoco River ...

Safe Journeys!

SONATA FOR A LATE AFTERNOON

Narrow old-city streets lined with rainbow houses. In the rooms of one, lilac- colored, youth learn music. Boys tune their guitars. A boy sits in the window looking out to the cobbled street. Chords of guitar, bars of French horn, sweet voices drift through the sultry late day.
