Imagine your a dog. Your sitting at home anxiously awaiting the moment when your “master” comes back. You love your owner.
Even though he doesn’t always treat you the best, you still love him with all your heart. You wait and wait. It feels like he has been gone for hours. You listen intently.
Suddenly you hear the door click open. Your heart explodes with happiness. Oh boy, oh boy! He’s home! He’s home! Yay! He’s home. You run to him.
Your tail’s wagging wildly and your tongue is hanging out, ready to greet him with a warm welcome. You turn the corner in a frenzy of excitement. There he is! There he is! You jump up onto him.
Licking him happily. You run circles around him, trying to express just how happy you are to see him. But something’s not quite right. He’s yelling at you… He seems mad at something.
But this just makes more determined to make him happy. After all he is the most important thing in your life. You lick him again trying to make him smile.
But before you could react BAM! He strikes out and hits you acrosed your muzzle. Your taken aback and you crouch down trying to register what just happened. But it doesn’t end there.
He just keeps hitting and hitting you. He has a belt now. You look up at him and whimper. Did-did I do something wrong? What did I do? Whatever I did to make you mad I’m sorry.
I’ll be a good boy. I promise. Just please, stop hitting me. But your pleads go unheard. As the belt digs deeper and deeper into your skin. Ripping and tearing at your flesh.
After what seems like forever he gives you one finale thwack, shuts off the lights and closes the door. Your left alone, in the cold darkness.
You lay awake still wondering to yourself what you did to make him mad. You let out one last whimper before closing your eyes. Even after what he did to you, you hope he’s happy now.
After all he’s your world and you love him. You would do anything to make him happy.
Even go through all the pain he puts you through, as long as it make him feel better and with that finale thought you drift off into a painful slumber.
