March 2018 Prompt: Who wouldn't be angry? You ate all my cereal and faked your death for 3 years!

March 2018 Word: Loquacious

“Who wouldn't be angry? You ate all of my cereal and faked your death for 3 years!” Tyler yelled at me. I looked up as I chewed. The last few bites of cereal I had shoved in my mouth.

“Sorry, I was hungry…..” After a long pause, “Oh, and sorry for not letting you know I was um, not dead.” I reached for a jar of peanut butter.

Looking around, I didn’t see any spoons just sitting around so I just stuck my finger in the jar of sticky goodness and licked it off my finger.

“Anna, stop shoving food in your face and start being loquacious!”

I rolled my eyes as I licked more peanut butter off my fingers. “Chill. Take a deep breath...Let it out. Again. Feel better? Sit and we can talk”

Tyler let out a loud sigh, then walked over to the couch and sat down. “Come sit by me and tell me what happened.”

I got up and went to side down beside him but was a little distracted with dipping my finger back into the peanut butter jar and my feet got tangled. I fell half on the couch, half on Tyler.

“Sorry”, I mumbled, pushing myself off him. He just raised his eyebrows at me but did not say anything. I glanced at him while eating and noticed I had got some on his shirt.

I debated if I should tell him, then decided against it with the mood he was in. “ Well, I really don’t know where to start Tyler.” Another pause. “Well,…..3 years ago, I didn’t die.

I just had to disappear for a little while to figure some things out.”

“Like what, and why?” Tyler asked, a little flusterated with me for not getting to the point fast enough.

“To come to terms with what happened to me and to learn how to control myself.” I looked over at my best friend who just stared blankly at me.

Sighing dramatically I said, “Tyler, I was attacked 3 years ago by a werewolf and was bitten. A few days later, I got really sick.

Anyways, now I’m one too and I’ve been trying to deal with it on my own but its been really hard, and lonely. I don’t think we are supposed to be alone.

” I said the rest in a rush because I knew I had to get it out before I chickened out. It was dead silence. ‘What could he be thinking right now?’, I wondered.

I kept watching him as I felt my wolf wanting to get out as it sensed my unease as the silence stretched on.

Tyler sat without moving or blinking for what seemed like forever, then tilted his head back and started laughing hysterically. I sat there staring.

‘I wonder if he is going a little crazy with my confession.’ He gets his laughter under control.

“Anna, you had me going there for a minute. You read too much. This is the real world, not something made up un one of the stories that you read all the time. Now tell me what really is going on.

“I did!” I replied, feeling my temper flare and having to push my wolf down. “This might sound insane to you but it’s true. I’ve stayed away because I didn't want to drag you into this.

” I took a deep breath, then let it out slowly, trying to calm down my swirling emotions. “I’ve been alone and scared with no idea what was happening to me.

It’s took me a while to learn how to switch back into human but if I had strong emotions it makes me turn.”

Tyler kept laughing so I did the only thing I could….I got up and started to undress. That got him to stop in a hurry.

“Um, Anna, what are you doing?” Tyler asked, his eyes darting from me to the floor and back, not sure where to look.

“To prove to you I’m telling the truth…”

The next minute I was standing on 4 paws. I watched Tyler behind golden wolf eyes. His eyes were wide and his mouth was open as he stared at my wolf.

Slowly backing away from me, he stuttered in a shaky voice, “Anna?”

Looking at my best friend, I felt my wolf taking over more and more of me as my emotions were high. As I gazed at him I crept closer, my head lowered, trying to be as unthreatening as possible.

Tyler was backed against the wall now. I tripped over my paws and lost concentration for a moment. At that instant my wolf took over and I lunged at him, canines out and sank my teeth into him.

“Mine!” I growled.
