A poetic story...with a twist!

Returning home

Daylight has fallen, Darkness creeps over sky. The moonlight casts an eerie silhouette, on this place I once called home.

Derelict and abandoned I stand before this once happy place, now a shadow of it former beauty. I am reminiscent, and alone.

Time gradually stands still As I carefully move forward, Over the over-grown unloved garden I reach the welcoming front door.

With bated breath I step over the threshold as the door creaked open, my eyes are opened wide with surprise, ghosts of happier times greet me in awe.

I feel a strange sense of peace now, I do not feel alive or dead. I happily roam these rooms and halls, it is my home again once more.
