I just realized I've written a LOT of love poems. I'm such a romantic.

Burning out

My hands are tied with dishcloth to the head of the bed, in an apartment that feels damp.

Pale morning light is tenderly caressing my bare thighs. More tender than you.

You've already met all the lines of my body, drew each and every one of them with your lips.

You've tangled your fingers into the waves of my hair, and poured the sea depths out of them.

Dived, face first, into the perfume on my neck, and tasted it with bites.

My hands are tied with dishcloth to the head of the bed, in an apartment that feels love.

I watch as the cigarette you're smoking is burning out between your lips. Almost like me.
