He's suffocating;

by letspretend

He can't breathe.

Big house, big car and big bank account. Would these mean happiness? What about passion? What about heart's desire?

He's struggling.

Stuck between wanting to please others and being happy he can't decide which is more important, isn't it sad that he's struggling to find out which is more important?

He's drowning.

Because he doesn't know which path to take or which voice to listen to he's stuck, his under crashing waves that's drowning him and he can't seem to lift his head above the water.

He's being judged.

They can't see inside of him, they can't see how much he's hurting, can't seem to understand the immeasurable amount of pain he is in. They just see someone wasting his life away, stagnant.

So he suffocates.

He can't breathe, he's losing this battle within himself, his drowning, he's falling. Why won't you help him? Why won't someone, anyone, help him? As they walk away, he drowns and falls deeper.

Fantastic message. You have captured the weltschmerz facing generation after generation of them money chasers. They sell themselves into slavery to chase the filthy lucre. But happiness is ephemeral and escapes while they are working night and day to find it by looking in all the wrong places. At least that is what I got from your essay. Great job.
