When something shocks you,
You leap back, a zap of exhilaration that takes over your whole body until you're numb.
Leaving behind your previous feelings of consciousness, do those even matter anymore?
You can't feel anything you can't hear anything you can't breathe because if you breathe maybe what just shocked you will shock you again,
And you are unsure if you want it again.
Usually, shock births out thankfulness,
An overwhelming sense of relief, of joy.
And you keep shaking your head, trying to deny the pleasure that consumes you,
But it won't go away.
Falling in love--will you go through contractions of shock?
Before you reveal your affections back?
With God's love I continually do,
And when I say ‘I do’ to the man of my dreams,
I will be In Shock.
That he's right here,
In front of me,
Holding my heart ❤️
