When I sleep, I encounter things
Face to face, lying upside down
Right side up, wondering what position I should be in
To fight this properly.
I look at these crossed-eyed, brows furrowed, my mouth opening as if to speak,
But I reconsider and close it again.
My heart starts warning me, I shake as if someone threw cold water all over me
I don't want to look anymore I don't want to, I don't
But since He is with me I snatch another look.
I close my eyes and I move my mouth to pray.
I pray and pray and listen and listen to God's voice until
A blanket falls over my shaken body
And I sleep,
Wondering how I'll encounter them again.
Anomaly 1 : something different, abnormal, peculiar, or not easily classified : something anomalous
Job 33:14-18 ESV / 60 For God speaks in one way, and in two, though man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, while they slumber on their beds,
then he opens the ears of men and terrifies them with warnings, that he may turn man aside from his deed and conceal pride from a man; he keeps back his soul from the pit, his life from perishing by the sword.
