Mary, Miriam and Mei Yin

by cornycaa

Mary, Miriam, Maya and Mei Yin, all living sad While here I regret for something I never had! I cry but they weep For the sorrow they have got to keep.

Their lives; all in shambles While mine is yet to be staked at countless gambles! We bleed and we breathe But to men, we are here to breed.

Our bodies are judged and criticized. "Oh, you must look good to keep us hypnotized" But I must break free And might as well live in a tree!

But Mary, Miriam, Maya and Mei Yin Must no longer be your sin.

This was a powerful poem. I loved it. You conveyed a tragic view of society that must be rejected. Beautifully written. Great poem!!!!!
