Taking deep breaths to calm herself, she waits impatiently for the cloud to move out of her way.
To let her see the light and take the horrific shadows away, to let her be free for a few more hours until the monster comes to break her again.
She flexes her toes, almost crack her bone as her muscles stretch to the point of tearing apart. Her arms rest straight beside her, tensely grabbing onto the grass.
Dirt makes its way in between her nails, but all she wants is for it to end. In the middle of her anguish, she prays to God.
Prays to him for help as the wind blows cold, carrying those familiar whispers of solitude and distress. Creepy voices that laugh at her pain, they call out her name like a chanting curse.
Something in the darkness wants her.
It wants her to join them in that world where she'll know nothing but emptiness, she adds more desperation to her prayers as the goosebumps let her know they're right with her.
"Help... me," a tiny sound makes its way out of her throat as a tear builds in the corner of her eye, trying not to see or feel the demon approaching.
She presses her eyes together while her heart thumps drastically.
A lump in her throat forces her to breathe harder through her nose, but it stings her windpipe. God! she shouts in her mind, gripping on the grass, a tear makes its way out of her eye.
