I wrote this poem about one of my favorite clubs in school and now I have to choose between two things that I love and I don't know what to do.

Spoken Word

It’s familiar

It’s familiar Home is

It’s familiar Home is So calming

It’s familiar Home is So calming And comforting

It’s a lingering scent of stale coffee

It’s a lingering scent of stale coffee It’s a scattered mess of papers

It’s a lingering scent of stale coffee It’s a scattered mess of papers It’s color and silence, a picture painted midair

It’s a lingering scent of stale coffee It’s a scattered mess of papers It’s color and silence, a picture painted midair Home is a sparkling diamond

Home is a place

Home is a place So familiar to me

Home is a place So familiar to me Written fondly in memory

Where words ring out

Where words ring out And strike the air

Where memories are born

Where memories are born Where hugs are shared

It’s so familiar to me

It’s so familiar to me Close to heart, so dear

It’s so familiar to me Close to heart, so dear Where I have grown

It’s so familiar to me Close to heart, so dear Where I have grown And shed many a tear

This home I speak of

This home I speak of Where my family was made

This home I speak of Where my family was made Where we forged bonds of steel

This home I speak of Where my family was made Where we forged bonds of steel Even as our members changed

This home of mine

This home of mine Is where I learned to be brave

This home of mine Is where I learned to be brave And though our numbers may have dwindled

This home of mine Is where I learned to be brave And though our numbers may have dwindled Though many of us have drifted apart

Our family is as strong as ever

Our family is as strong as ever Because it lives in all our hearts

This home is where it all started

This home is where it all started Where I made memories to be shared

This home is where I found myself

This home is where I found myself My home is Spoken Word

I've been faced with a tough decision.

I have to decide whether I want to be a part of the musical which would take up nearly all of my time or if I want to continue with the club that I love.

It's tearing me apart because as much as I want to join the musical, I don't want to abandon Spoken Word.

It had been my home and the place where I can be myself no matter what.

If I leave there is an enormous chance that my club will die because we've got next to no members left.

I've worked hard to keep it alive this year and by joining the musical, I'll basically throw all of that away.

But I still want to be a part of the musical and I don't know what to do.
