We took a step the wrong way, and there was no turning back. As we let go, the control forever slipped from our grasp.
It was a comfortable path, littered with warning signs.
We pressed on into false security, onward into a land of broken dreams. As our freedom waned, the screams of anger intensified.
But they were all quelled, and as silence reigned, liberty retreated.
The way back will be bloody and tragic, an inevitable war.
If I look back now, clearly we took the wrong step.
