Deep Desire In You

by me

We looked into the stars

using their existence at our own advantage

Mine to forget,

yours to inspire

You were focused on your camera

trying to create the perfect balance of light and dark

I focused on you

wondering where we would be in a year

I thought about the places we'd go

and the people we would meet

We would explore the depths of the world

learning as much as we desired

You called out my name

asking me a question that I'll never remember

Because in that moment, I knew

that someday I would never see you again

You wrote a very clever poem representing self fulfilling prophecy. I love your alternating verses. They lyrically build one on the other until we see the handwriting on the wall. Great poem!!!
