I wrote this poem based off a quote from a poem from Atticus. :)

Feel The Words

Poetry is what happens when your mind stops working, and for a moment, all you do is feel ~Atticus

A jumbled scribble on a piece of parchment

A jumbled scribble on a piece of parchment But instead of paper, that's what's in my head

A jumbled scribble on a piece of parchment But instead of paper, that's what's in my head A mess of thoughts trying to untangles themselves, instead tying themselves in knots

A riot of words fighting to escape through my fingers and onto a page

A riot of words fighting to escape through my fingers and onto a page Struggling down my brain, down my arm, my hand tingling

A riot of words fighting to escape through my fingers and onto a page Struggling down my brain, down my arm, my hand tingling My hand drifts toward a pen, clutching it, hanging on for dear life

Dangling over a cliff waiting for the drop down, where your stomach flops

Dangling over a cliff waiting for the drop down, where your stomach flops Where your heart jumps into your throat, waiting for that burst of adrenaline

Dangling over a cliff waiting for the drop down, where your stomach flops Where your heart jumps into your throat, waiting for that burst of adrenaline My hand moves across the page barely noticing the words I put down

Just seeing vague blotches of ink where my pen used to be

Just seeing vague blotches of ink where my pen used to be The lines blur together, and soon enough, the white paper is filled with words

Just seeing vague blotches of ink where my pen used to be The lines blur together, and soon enough, the white paper is filled with words Artfully hand picked from my mind and put on display

The drop is over, now I'm waiting to be saved in the waters down below

The drop is over, now I'm waiting to be saved in the waters down below I inhale deeply, the rushing waters sounding in my ears, before I snap my eyes open

The drop is over, now I'm waiting to be saved in the waters down below I inhale deeply, the rushing waters sounding in my ears, before I snap my eyes open And I'm back in my room, with a page filled with poetry in my hand
