Why I Stopped Writing

by hannahmilligan

I got too busy.

I had so many other things to do. Who wants to read your thoughts anyway?

I saw it as pointless.

If it's not getting a thousand views and likes, then why should I write?

I felt like I couldn't keep up.

What if people actually started expecting me to write every week? That's a lot of pressure.

I didn't think what I had to say was worth it.

Other people have had these thoughts before - so why should I tell them what they already know?

What's your excuse?

Everyone goes through this period where they don't want to write - but in the end it's up to you to decide WHY you write.

Now, I write for me.

I write because I need to get my thoughts out there. To make myself accountable for what I say.

So find your written purpose.

And maybe your purpose is to not write at all, and that's okay too. But don't follow anyone else's standards for perfection. You'll only end up disappointed.
