Sapphic

by hannahdycus

you are sitting on her bed

hyperaware of her presence

and of every time she moves.

you dont realize, but you

are moving slowly, slowly

closer to her, but you dont realize.

the gravitational pull between

the two of you

sitting on her bed, moving closer and closer still,

must be greater than the gravitational pull

of you two to the earth

because her hand is on yours

and youve met her eyes, and your breath caught

and you must be floating away, together.

A beautiful love poem. You know it is excellence in poetry when it transcends sexuality and becomes pertinent to the entire universe of love.
