This is a poem about gender stereotypes and struggles I deal with, please don’t base your personality on someone else’s preferences and be you! This poem is inspired by @paperdoll

Let me be me

I've always been told that i'm not "manly" enough

I should be tougher

I should be stronger

Not be so emotional all the time

I shouldn't like "girly things" and hang out with girls or else I am “Gay”

Why are you forcing me to be a person I'm not?

Why do I have to play sports and do these things

When that isn't what i enjoy?

I love myself for who I am

And you should too

I may not be perfect in your eyes

But I am perfect in my eyes

I believe a person can be who they want to be and there shouldn't be limits to a person's point of intrests

As James Bay once said

"Why don't you be you

And I'll be me"

So Please

Let me be me
