Darkshade stayed near the edge of the camp, unlike the other she-cats. Sure, Iceheart and Thundercloud were Terrorstar's sons, but she didn't know why they suddenly decided to join SoulClan. Could they be spies? One of the toms, Thundercloud, walked over to her.
"Hello," he dipped his head in greeting to her. "I'm Thundercloud. And who might you be?"
"Darkshade." She said curtly. "Why did you and Iceheart leave SilentClan?" Thundercloud sighed. "Nightstar banished us. After Shatteredstar was killed, cats started calling Iceheart a murderer and I decided to leave with him. I couldn't just abandon my brother like that."
Darkshade's gaze softened. Rainstar, the leader of StormClan had exiled her, claiming that she was too weak to be a true StormClan warrior. Terrorstar had found her and took her into SoulClan. Now she's considered one of the best fighters in the Clan. Even Clawheart had praised her technique.
"Well, now you're one of us," Darkshade mewed. "And Terrorstar seems to be in a good mood. This is the first time he's given us she-cats a break from hunting," she joked.
Thundercloud chuckled. "Everyone keeps saying that SoulClan is the most ruthless out of all of the Clans, but...you seem like a normal Clan to me."
"That's because we are normal," Darkshade replied. "We're just more broken than the others. But that's what makes us strong. We all know what it's like to be abandoned, exiled, or betrayed. That common ground is what unites SoulClan."
Thundercloud thought about that for a moment before nodding. "Then it seems this Clan is far more organized and unified than the others."
"It is," Darkshade agreed.
The two of them went silent, but it was a comfortable silence, not an awkward one. After a while, Darkshae heard Terrorstar call her over. She said her goodbyes to Thundercloud and went over to where her leader and Clawheart were sitting.
"You wanted to see me?" Darkshade asked. "Yes," Terrorstar replied. "Clawheart and I have been talking, and we've decided that we're going to invade and take over SilentClan tonight. They're weak and there's no moon, so this will be the perfect opportunity to do this."
Darkshade nodded. "I'll serve SoulClan in any way I can." "Yes, you will," Clawheart spoke. "Which is why you're going to be leading the patrol that will be in charge of killing SilentClan's leader and deputy. We leave at midnight."
