The story of a powerful woman.

by glennhenley

The fire in her eyes Burns the world around her The nature of her disguise Acts as an irresistible lure

When she breathes deeply She inhales the dreams of a thousand people She has power and fame and glory Rising high like a church's steeple

As she walks, her heels clicking She crushes poor souls beneath her As the watch keeps ticking Time runs and the clocks whirr

Yet one day as she stands above us all Her step will falter She will stutter and fall In her future lies a halter

I like how the last paragraph hints that everyone has their limits. ;) Really good and quite different from what everyone usually writes ;)
