a poem about a love as fleeting as the seasons

Summer Comes Around

We were born in the summer

In a crib fate put together,

But we needn't wade through winter

For by autumn, we were strangers.

When came spring, we both were sober

From the lunacy of hearts.

Now here we are, another summer,

On two roads life struck apart.
