Day 39 Drabble Inspiration: Tom Waits’ song Cemetery Polka Characters: Mistress with the wooden leg and Uncle Bill

First of all, let's clear one thing up. It was made of wood, but only from the knee down. Not an exciting story. She was born that way.

Bill's nice. When she met him, he didn't even notice the leg. She'd been his mistress for years but now his wife?

Was that what she wanted? She loved him. Never imagine herself being a wife. Mistress suited her better. Never wanted kids. Never really wanted the responsibility of a husband either.

She'd let him buy her a new leg and a plane ticket to Puerto Rico. But she wasn't coming back.
