How then to end the day settling into past tense; Night comes calling with a chill in the air; And warmth is growing from a crackling fire; A small gesture of forest-hewn wood; The grinding cognizance of frail life now smoke and blaze; The watcher has so little time; In the grand lengths of the earth's ages silence awaits;
