As I run to the source of the musket and cannon shots I ready my gun. I run past wounded men and women that had broken limbs, some were burnt, some were shot by muskets or cannons, and some who have succumbed to their fatal wounds. I even saw wounded and-- dead children on the ground some amongst the rubble of the nearby collapsed buildings. I was completely and utterly devastated by the damage and death all around me, who could have done this, the British.

The Revolutionary War

Chapter One

I jumped from my bed to the sound of cannon and musket fire. I go to the left of my bed to face the window and look out with fear in my eyes.

I start to tremble as I look around the village, buildings on fire, buildings missing walls, buildings even fully collapsed.

I see a cannon ball heading right for my window, I jump to the right of the window nearly avoiding death.

The cannon ball smashes right through my window onto my bed completely obliterating it sending shrapnel everywhere, cotton and wood shards flying past me in every which way.

I run to the front of my bed and grab my musket which is now laying of the floor from the blast and run to my side table to the right of my bead and quickly grab my map and open the drawer and

grab a small pouch containing musket balls which we use as ammunition for our muskets and some gunpowder.

I dash to the left and grab the guardrail of the stairs with my left hand keeping my momentum while I slide down the stairs.

I stumble to the door and grab my coat that lay on the coat rack beside the door and I swing open the front door as I put on my coat.

The British have hated us since we broke off from them.

We set up thirteen different colonies being: Virginia, New York, Massachusetts, Maryland, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Delaware, North Carolina, South Carolina, New Jersey,

Pennsylvania, and Georgia. At the moment I am in Georgia, I decided to settle down here with the rest of my family. I finally find the source of the cannon and musket fire, at the main gate.

Cannon balls and musket fire are flying right through the main gate and walls.

I look to the left and see a ladder and I run to it and climb up grabbing on to the platform above I run up to a cannon and man it, I load the gunpowder, then the cannon ball, then I fire.

The cannon ball flies through the air and hits two cannons that were close to each other, destroying them both. The british manning the cannons all focus fire on me.

I duck and see a cannonball fly right over my head and hit a building behind me. Then another one was shot hitting my cannon. The third shot hit the wall making me stumble a bit.

Then the british focus their fire on something else, most likely the main gate.

I pull out my gun powder and load it into my musket by putting it on a piece of paper then shoving it down my musket with a wooden rod to the bottom of the musket.

I then grab the pouch containing my ammunition and open it, then I start digging a ball from it.

But all this sudden a cannon ball strikes the wall near me causing me to drop the bag containing my animation fall to the ground sending little balls flying everywhere on the platform.

I scramble to grab a ball and shove it into the musket and cock it. I run to the left on the platform to another cannon and fire my musket.

The British return fire with two cannonballs through the wall and to the platform I am on. The blast sends me up into the air a bit then back to the ground below with a thud.

I black out right as I hit the dry, rough, dirt surface.

I wake up moments later screaming because of an excruciating pain in my left leg,

I looked down to examine what damage has been done to my leg and there was a big wooden spike at least five inches into my leg and sticking out three inches.

The wood spike was about half a foot below my knee.

I reach down to my left leg and try to pull the wood spike from my leg using all of my available strength, but it was no use it was not coming out....

I lay back and just stay there, because an injury like that is a death sentence. As I lay down I start to black out, I let it happen.

I wake up to my brother opening the front door to my house carrying me on his left shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

He sets me down in a chair to the right of the stairs to my room and he drags my carpet over to reveal a trap door.

I ask "How long has that been there?

" My brother responds "Its been here since the village was made, now be quite" My brother pulls the trap up the trap door revealing stairs that lead down to a dark abyss.

He picks me up over his shoulder like before then brings me to the trap door and steps in, grabbing a torch and lighting it.

He steps farther and closes the hatch, only light visible is his torch.

Chapter Two

I start blinking my eyes slowly from fatigue, the rhythm of going down the stairs, so calming, putting me into a daze.

Left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot and so only I daze off in complete peace and solace. I wake up to the sun beaming down on me right into my eyes.

I start blinking rapidly and try to cover my eyes with my right hand to save myself from the blinding light. Once my eyes adjust I look at the land around me.

I was laying in a hay pile with a horse stall right beside me to my right and left was the entrance. It was big at least fifteen feet tall. The big doors were open.

In front of me was another haystack to each side were two horse stalls beside both of the horse stalls were big stalls with pigs, cows and sheep.

I hear a conversation going on outside of the barn, I try to get up and run and hide, but I could not get anywhere. I just fall to the ground in agony.

"I am helpless with this injury" I say to myself. I just lay there helpless in the haystack awaiting whatever is coming my way.

The talking gets louder then louder and louder, as the conversation grows near, I recognize a voice, my brother. He was talking to someone, and not just one person but many at least ten.

My brother and at least eleven other people enter the barn and I glare at them confused. My brother looks down at me and smiles saying "I got you some help Jackson.

" I look up to him, smile back and say thankfully Thanks Zachary I then moan in pain as the people pick me up. They carry me into a two story house, it is massive and looks quite new.
