Jungkook sighed as he still held her arm, "Give yourself more credit, alright? Being depressed and self-deprived gets you nowhere in life. " Y/N looked up at him as his tone got serious, "Hoseok and I are no different than you. We're all human, we all bleed red. We're one in the same, alright?" Jungkook gave her a bunny smile, "So stop crying, we'll take care of you from now on."

Neighbors (Re-Posting) |Jeon Jungkook, Part 7|

She sat in the spare bedroom Hoseok and Jin cleared out for her so she could sleep there and make it her own for a while.

Jungkook was on call with his mother and father, speaking about what just happened; they were alright with her staying there due to them being neighbors all their life.

She already unpacked her bags and put everything up, the small wooden box in her hand. She laid the pictures on the bed, looking over them all. She'd had some since she was near five years old.

She then picked up the picture of him with the note on the back.

Y/N smiled and placed all the photos in the wooden box, locking it and putting it on the nightstand. He then walked to the bathroom, carrying clothes with her.

She closed the bathroom door, and sat her clothes on the sink. She undressed herself as she turned on the shower water. She stepped in closing the curtains.

She looked up into the hot water as she grabbed shampoo and squeezed it into her hands. She sat down in the bottle and started to wash her hair.

After she finished washing herself, she turned the water off and stepped out onto the cold tiled floor.

Y/N walked in front of the mirror and looked at the scar on her left side, right below her chest.

She gently touched it, "Is it supposed to be like this?" She whispered, knowing she wasn't going to get an answer.

She turned away from the foggy mirror and sat on the toilet lid, head in her lap.

She held herself as she let the tears fall; she didn't feel stable anymore. However, she knew it was all going to be over soon. She stood up, and grabbed a towel, wrapping it around her body.

She looked at her wet clothes on the floor and kneeled down to pick them up. She stood, and unlocked the room door, opening it and letting the hot air come from the smaller like room.

She turned around to hear her door open. She stopped in her tracks as Jungkook stood in the doorway, a small, pink bag in his left hand.

His eyes didn't stray from hers as he spoke, "Hoseok and Jin made this for you, since you didn't come down for the meal." Jungkook then sat the small bag on her bed after he walked less than two feet away from her. He stopped and turned to look at her face, "The toilet in that bathroom doesn't work, I'll fix it tomorrow so you won't have to leave your room."

With that, the dark-haired boy left the room, shutting the door gently.

Y/N looked at the bag and walked over to it, making sure the towel was tightly wrapped around her small body. She then looked in it to see Panda Express and banana milk.

She sighed softly, a smile on her face. She then sat on the silk bed and laid on it, her lower-half still on the floor. She then closed her eyes, making a simple wish.

(The Next Day)

The next day, Jungkook walked with Y/N to school. Hoseok had left earlier that morning to go to a meeting that had to do with his work. Jungkook had his own car, but Y/N already started walking.

"I wanted to apologize for what Jin did yesterday, if it bothered you. He picks up many girl's that way." Jungkook spoke as he walked right beside Y/N down the busy road. He coughed, "You looked pretty upset so we followed, just to make sure nothing was going to happen." Jungkook then slightly smiled and looked over to the girl, "Are you alright after your father yesterday though?"

Y/N nodded, giving him a soft smile, "I wanted to thank you for that.." Her voice drifted as she saw the school, "But I didn't know when..." She seemed unsure of herself as she spoke, letting her thoughts wander. Here she was, talking to the boy she loved and she couldn't do anything.

"You don't need to thank me for doing what had to be done. Your life was toxic with that man, I should have gotten you out sooner." He sighed and stopped walking.

He grabbed Y/N's arm, causing her to stop and look up at him.

As he spoke, his grip tightened, "Why have you never asked for help?" His eyes were soft and his face was pale, "I would have helped you, as would Hoseok. We were right there, so why not come over?"

Y/N's face flushed red at his touch, "I.." She stopped talking and she let the tears fall. For the past three years, she never could go a day without crying, "I was scared to, I d-didn't know you personally... It would be strange.. Especially with both of your stats at school and then a worthless girl like-" Y/N stopped talking, knowing she was rambling, "Never mind, s-sorry.." She looked down.

Y/N nodded, wiping her tears away with her hand, "A-Alright." She sniffled, closing her eyes shortly. She opened her eyes to see Jungkook holding his handkerchief out to her.

She slowly took it and used it to wipe away the water from her face.

"Keep it for now, I know you're gonna need it again today." Jungkook, still holding her arm, started to walk forward.

Y/N followed right behind him, embarrassed that he was still holding onto her.

She coughed, "Are you meaning to hold me?" She felt dumb for even speaking and quickly wished she hadn't. She then looked up to see Jungkook giving her a small glance. She felt weak.

"Do you not want me to?" His stride got shorter as he slowed down, "If I make you uncomfortable, just tell me, alright?" He then smiled at her, "Need me to let you go?"

Y/N thought for a minute at how he was acting. She then breathed out and shook her head no. Jungkook saw and tightened his grip as he started walking again.

She followed along like a dog on a leash; not that it bothered her.

As they got close to the school, people looked in their direction. Y/N stopped walking.

Jungkook stopped and turned to face her again. He then let her arm go, "If you don't want to be seen with me, just tell me. It won't hurt my feelings, Y/N." He shoved his hands in his pockets.

"It's not that.." Y/N looked away as she spoke, "People can start rumors about us and I doubt you want that.." She then started walking forward, brushing past him.

Her shoulder clipped his chest softly as she continued to walk to the school doors.

Jungkook turned to watch the fragile girl walk away from him, getting further by the second.

His chest breathed in heavily as he shook his head, "What boy has hurt you, Kim Y/N?" He spoke to himself as he narrowed his eyes.

He let his hair fall as his leather jacket seemed to constrict his body. He then started walking towards his friend's who were waiting for him by the school doors.
