Easter Sunday

The air’s still,

I can breathe, But I feel like choking, My heart’s beating, But something’s gripping it,

Trying to crush it,

I don’t belong here, I don’t feel your sense of longing,

I don’t belong here, I don’t feel your sense of longing, Your sense of family, Your sense of belonging,

You cry, But I sigh, You worship, But I don’t believe,

No one died for my sins, No one died for me, Most likely,

No one died for my sins, No one died for me, Most likely, I’ll always politely disagree, With your beliefs, I know we can both agree, On the freedom of belief,

I don’t belong here, In your place of worship, For you don’t “agree”, With my sexuality,

Your religion has ensnared your mind, It made you believe that eight little sentences, Is worth not understanding me,

I won’t drink the blood, I won’t eat the body, For it’s merely grape juice and bread,

It’s funny saying, But I believe it to be true, God’s dead, and we killed him
