On the heated pavement, came vows to live immortal.

Ahogar by Emme Symone

On the heated pavement,

came vows to live immortal.

Our days passed by aflame and so we doused ourselves in ice.

The rainbow kind and cherry,

Soft and sweet with berries,

We drew our names in wood as memoirs of our lightful bond.

We never grew past june,

Running fast from time,

Leaping into ponds afloat with magic to save us close.

When our day did die,

We saw the stars perform,

Their serenade of pitches high;

we flew into the azure.

Abiding as immortals, pure.
